Michelle Vigneau (oboe)

Oboist Michelle Vigneau has performed solo, orchestral, opera, and chamber music throughout the United States, Mexico, South Africa, and China. She has made appearances on National Public Radio (USA), at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Jordan Hall and at other international venues. Michelle has performed with the Austin Lyric Opera, Memphis Symphony Orchestra, the State Orchestra of Mexico, the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Opera Memphis, the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra (RSA), and the Portland Symphony. Festival appearances include the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival (South Africa), the Spoleto Festival USA, New Texas Festival, PRIZM Chamber Music Festival, and the Victoria Bach Festival (Texas).

Dr. Vigneau is the Associate Professor of Oboe at the University of Memphis, where she has taught since 2003.

A native of Boston, Michelle’s degrees are from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the New England Conservatory of Music, and The University of Texas at Austin. Her teachers have included James Caldwell, Rebecca Henderson, Lawrence Thorstenberg, and Mark Ostoich,
