Ania Bard (violin)
Ania Bard, recent concertmaster of Orquesta Filarmonica de Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Chile, is a pedagogue, chamber musician, recitalist, and a soloist.
Born in Poland, Ms. Bard earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas, and Master’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Currently, she is a Doctor of Musical Arts Candidate at the University of North Texas. She is a winner of the Gregor Piatigorsky Foundation Competition. Till today, Ms. Bard has performed as a recitalist, chamber, and orchestral musician on 4 continents and in fifteen countries of: Europe, Middle East, North and South Americas.
As a member of orchestras, and chamber ensembles, Ms. Bard performed at: Berlin Philharmonic; Concertgebouw, Amsterdam; Musikverein, Vienna; Megaron Hall, Athens; National Philharmonic Hall, Warsaw; Jordan Hall, USA, among others. She worked under such conductors as: John Axelrod, Niksa Bareza, Sergio Comissiona, Krzysztof Penderecki, Helmuth Rilling, Stanislaw Skrowaczewski, and Antoni Wit.
Ms. Bard is an avid propagator of musical education for children, youth and adults, who are underprivileged or do not have access to such education in their immediate environment. She has been involved in outreach programs as a recitalist and lecturer for ten years now in: Chile, Israel, and in the United States.
Ms. Bard was born to a musical family, with both parents being active performers and music educators. While growing up, she performed with her older sister, a violinist, and her younger sister, a pianist, in Poland and abroad.
Outside of the music world, Ms. Bard is an ardent photographer.
