Attilio Motzo (violin)
After graduating “cum laude” from the “G.Pierluigi da Palestrina” Conservatory of Cagliari he continued his studies at the Accademia Chigiana of Siena with S. Accardo and Franco Gulli. He then participated in quartet courses given by Piero Farulli, the Smetana Quartet and the Borodin Quartet in Siena. He collaborated as concertmaster for many years with various chamber groups and orchestras, such as Spazio Musica of Cagliari, the CARME association of Milan, the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Firenze, the Chamber Orchestra of Mantua etc. Since 1984 he has dedicated himself to baroque and classical music. Collaborates with the Orchestra Barocca Italiana, Modo Antiquo of Florence, Le Concert des Nations, the Ensemble Baroque de Limoges, Les Talens Lyriques, the Academia Montis Regalis, the Orchestre des Champs Elysées and the Collegium Vocale de Gent Orchestra. Is invited Concertmaster of the Orchestra Filharmonica de Galicia and the Sinfonietta orchestra of Cagliari. In 2005 recorded the Sonatas and Partitas by J.S.Bach with the baroque violin for che label Inviolata. Specialised in 18th century italian music. Teaches in the baroque and modern violin department at the “G. P. da Palestrina” Conservatory of Cagliari. As natural development of his musical experiences, began to collaborate with Dimitri Mattu (viola) and Oscar Piastrelloni (cello) and creating the Trio d ’archi di Cagliari.
