Oscar Piastrelloni (violoncello)

image002Oscar Piastrelloni studied violoncello at “G.B.Martini” Bologna Conservatory  with Giorgio Sassi, the last student of the great Camillo Oblach’s; at “G.Verdi” Milan Conservatory and Cremona “W.Stauffer” International Academy with Rocco Filippini, who afterwards would express a preference for him to succeed to his chair at Milan Conservatory. He also owes Franco Maggio Ormezowsky his preparation. As a soloist or a chamber music player he was invited to the München Deutsches Museum season, he performed Dvořák cello Concert op. 104 throughout an Italy tour of Amsterdam “J. Pzn. Sweelinck” Symphony Orchestra, he was invited at S. Petersbourg Hermitage “Quarenghi” Concert Hall, he joined a Japan tour of “Ludwig Ensemble” String Trio telecast by NHK; RAI radiotre broadcast his premieres of O. Respighi recently discovered cello Concert and other compositions for solo cello and orchestra which were also recorded by  Bongiovanni label. As guest first cello soloist he joined Turin RAI Symphony, Cagliari Teatro Lirico, Sanremo Symphony, Ferrara OCF Orchestras and was invited by the “Camerata Strumentale di Roma” to join their 2005 Japan tour performing at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall and Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall. After winning a competitive National examination, he is professor of violoncello at “G.P. da Palestrina” Cagliari Conservatory. He is regularly invited to lecture cello Masterclasses at Carloforte (Sardinia, Italy) “Incontri musicali Internazionali”. He plays on a cello by Raffaele Fiorini, Bologna, 1894.
